• Lead technical member responsible in major project transfer of Rolls Royce Fan Blade manufacturing (Trent 900, 1000 & XWB Mk2) from UK plant into the new Singapore facility.• Conducted Site Acceptance Test (SAT) to qualify various machining centers for production readiness and lead change control activities through fixed process approval workstream with key stakeholders. • Lead new process implementation by ensuring documentations such as Fixed Process Documents, pFMEA, dFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, Inspection Plans and Design Characteristic Matrix are approved and in place for production • Lead weekly Right First Time (RFT) sessions with engineers and production team to understand cell performance, form special team to analyse and improve cell throughput .• Continuously review quality control processes, procedures and capabilities to sustain cost effective and efficient methods for meeting quality requirements and making recommendations for improvement.• Lead machining process improvements (cycle time reduction, cutting tool optimization, probing cycles and cutting strategy) with the aid of CAD/CAM solutions namely Siemens NX, Vericut and Renishaw probing cycles.• Conduct training to junior engineers on machining process basics, NX CAM programming 3-Axis to 5-Axis, G-codes, M-codes, cutting tool basics, tool pre-setter, Vericut simulation, Renishaw probing cycles, Adaptive machining and smart machining techniques.• Lead OEE driven sessions between Engineering, Production and Maintenance team to execute cross functional improvement activities on poor performing equipments.• Ensure compliance to local procedures and processes to meet the requirements of customers, internal standard and regulatory/ certifying authorities.• Conduct bi-weekly review with junior engineers to ensure documentations such as PFMEA, Control Plan, Technical Instructions and Right First Time (RFT) charts are kept up to date.
Manufacturing Engineer
• Create process (manufacturing cycle) for new aerospace products which includes machining, chemical process, NDT and Assembly.• Render technical support to manufacturing cells in regards to CNC programs, process, fixtures, cutting tolls, sub-assembly, chemical process and NDT.• Lead new projects and manage key stakeholders in completing tasks according to agreed milestones.• Lead process improvement projects with production team in terms of eliminating waste throughout the process.• Custodian of PFMEA and MPC (Manufacturing Process Control) for the facility. Conduct periodical reviews with the team to pro-actively iron out any potential failures.
Manufacturing Engineer (Cad/Cam)
- Design complex Jig & Fixture for Aerospace engine cases using NX Siemens CAD software.- Create 4-Axis and 5-Axis CNC programs for Aerospace high temperature engine cases using NX Siemens, Mastercam and Vericut (CAD/CAM softwares).- Prepare stage drawings/ process plans for the entire machining process, from design stage right up to full fabrication.- Perform CNC program test cuts with Lead Machinist for new parts. Troubleshoot CNC programs to optimize cutting strategies. - Design special in process gauges for quick dimensional/ attribute checks while the component still loaded on the fixture/ machine.- Prepare and mange key process related documents ensuring they are up to date for AS9100 & ISO audit- Major customers are :- GE AVIATION(US), PRATT WHITNEY(CAN), COOPER CAMERON, HAMILTON SUNDSTRAND, Singapore Aerospace Manufacturing (SAM) , UMS , MAKINO & MAZAK
