Research on Autonomous Freight Rail and its Implementation in Richards Bay Coal Terminal in South Africa. Addressing the global problem of climate change, this idea proposed to convert diesel electric to autonomous electric locomotives. In addition to being emission less, operational issues such as derailments, delivery delays, vandalism and theft of cables were also reduced.

Design of a railway axle in compliance with BS EN 13103 European Standards, leveraging beam theory and ABAQUS Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Optimized stress distribution across the axle, resulting in enhanced reliability and a potential 10% reduction in component weight. Conducted structural assessments, identifying stress concentrations near notches that were at least 10 times higher than nominal stress levels. Performed stress analysis at the axle-hub interface using axisymmetric elastic theory to determine optimal interference fit. Applied advanced engineering principles to improve axle performance and longevity while adhering to strict safety standards.

Worked under the Total Energies Client and provided extensive support to the team.

Received the intensive Green Field Training (GFT) for SAP ERP system.

Led the charge of mechanical design team of three and was accountable for detailed 2D and 3D design.Created 3D drawings using CAD softwares, delivering the design 3 weeks before deadline.Accompanied fabrication team for assembly and drafted reports and bill of materials.Used Finite Element Modelling and simulation to optimize material usage and selection.
