I've had a wide variety of jobs and work experience over the past few decades, from the business services field to environmental research & planning. I started in client service/support for a large payroll-processing company, then after several years went back to school to pursue a new career path. I got a Masters degree in geography, which led to a environmental research and planning role on Cape Cod, working for a regional planning agency. After that job ended due to budget issues, I searched for a while and ended up back in client/customer support, for an academic publishing company, where I continue today. My primary goal is to find a more substantive position in publishing field, either in an editorial or operational role. Although the publishing world is undergoing profound change, I believe books & other written media will continue to be a fundamental means of presenting information, education, and entertainment well into the future, and I'd like to apply my skills in that field. The work skills I do best are project coordination & organization, research, writing, and communicating information to others.
