I am a sports and performance psychologist with a passion for helping individuals, coaches, teams, and organisations achieve their potential. Drawing from my own experiences as an athlete at the national and international level, I have overcome numerous professional and personal obstacles, which have shaped my approach to psychology and coaching.I have a particular interest in women's participation in sport, and how we can ensure a sense of belonging not just within the team, or the club but in the sport itself. When I played football I loved the game with the same intensity and passion as my brother, his friends or the boys I played with on my road, yet I never truly felt that I belonged in the sport. Inside I felt like a "footballer", but I was very aware that others viewed me and my teammates not as "footballers" but as girls who played football. This distinction may seem subtle and insignificant but from experience it can make the difference between persevering through tough times or distractions and packing it in.
