Taking the lead on major breaking news stories and acting as the final decision maker on difficult editorial and legal issues for all programmes and platforms across BBC News output, particularly at weekends when in charge of the pan-BBC news operation. Commissioned and oversaw films and investigations for digital first programme which broke new editorial ground with stories on issues affecting women, minority ethnic groups and underserved communities – notable successes included our Bafta award-winning coverage of child sex abuse in football.
