Developed Safety Committees and training programs to encourage and reward employee involvement. Audited domestic manufacturing facilities and offshore suppliers for compliance with Federal OSHA Standards. Managed Health & Safety requirements associated with New Era Cap’s participation in the Fair Labor Association (FLA). Handled transitional work programs; developed and administered return to work activities. Managed drug testing policy which includes: pre-employment testing and monthly random testing.Reduced self-insured Workers' Compensation reserves by $2 million (26%) between 2013 and 2017. Worked with Senior Benefits Management on the creation, implementation and coordination of an employee health and wellness benefit program. Coordinated the implementation of both the FMLA and PFL; oversaw current programs. Established the use of EAP (Employee Assistance Program) which benefitted 2000 employees, both domestically and abroad. Applied for and received NYS Hazard Abatement Board Grants totaling $85,000 allowing 45 employees to obtain OSHA’s 30 hour General Industry Certification and 250 employees to be educated on safety. Conducted health & safety seminars for suppliers in China, Vietnam and the Dominican Republic. Audited these facilities to ensure they were up to New Era’s Health and Safety standards.
