Obgyn Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Clinical Rotation
- Conducting ultrasound examinations: Performing abdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds to assess fetal growth, anatomy, and overall health during pregnancy.- Patient preparation: Preparing patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process and ensuring they are comfortable and informed.- Image acquisition: Capturing high-quality images and video clips of the fetus and reproductive organs for evaluation and diagnosis.- Analyzing images: Interpreting ultrasound images to identify normal and abnormal findings, such as cysts, fibroids, or congenital anomalies.- Documenting findings: Writing detailed reports that summarize the findings of the ultrasound examinations for the referring physician.- Maintaining equipment: Ensuring ultrasound equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and cleaned to ensure optimal performance.- Collaborating with the healthcare team: Working closely with obstetricians, gynecologists, and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and develop patient care plans.- Educating patients: Providing education to patients about the ultrasound procedure, what to expect, and any follow-up care or additional testing required.- Ensuring patient safety: Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a sterile environment to protect patients during ultrasound procedures.- Continuing education: Participating in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with advancements in sonography techniques and technologies.
