Responsible for delivery of MPS Vetting, Disclosure and PNC Bureau services. Leading c.500 staff with an annual budget of c.£9m driving service improvements to ensure efficient and effective services aligned to the MPS strategy. As Director I represent the MPS at all levels liaising with external stakeholders including Mayors Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC), NPCC, College of Policing, the Home Office and Cabinet Office.My role involves:• Engaging with NPCC leads on Disclosure and Vetting, College of Policing, His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary, Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS), Police Forces and Government to improve working relationships, engage and support national initiatives through sharing best practice and developing standards.• Setting the vision and strategic direction of the unit and leading the implementation of transformational change and continuous improvement .• Working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to plan response to external reviews.• Strengthening customer service and stakeholder relationships to understand demand leading development of core tools to enable better case management and forecasting.• Working in partnership with commercial, technology teams and suppliers to agree contractual terms and develop roadmap to meet core business requirements.• Customer engagement to understand business impact and risk mitigation strategies.• Providing strategic support to ensure readiness for future IT changes including liaison with the Home Office and driving forward change within the MPS.• Developing leadership skills and empowering teams to collectively deliver on vision and corporate strategy.• Maintaining Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and reporting performance.• Obtaining approval to increase staffing and directing a recruitment programme ensuring sufficient capacity and capability.• Establishing a people strategy to co-ordinate wellbeing and development and support diversity and inclusion.

Lead the set up and delivery of three core transformation programmes with the Met:1. Working with Aviation and local policing to scope and understand the impact of Heathrow expansion on Policing services both in and around the airport and liaising with Heathrow Airport Limited and commercial to ensure commercial vehicles are in place to support and fund policing activity to prepare for Heathrow Expansion 2. Set up and managed a programme team to delivery the Strengthening Local Investigations Programme to improve the capability and capacity of investigation teams across frontline policing through the delivery of the IIOC project; Mental Health project; THRIVE* project; neighbourhood policing project and investigation capability project. 3. Set up the Department for Professional Standards programme to improve the Met’s response to complaints and review the wider DPS operating model and relationship with local policing teamsAt the start of the pandemic I was responsible for monitoring and prioritising projects and programmes across transformation by assessing the impact of the pandemic on resources and organisational priorities. I also assisted in the set up of the strategic response cell working with City of London and other partners to determine the governance and reporting of the effect of the pandemic on the London region
