• Marketed via social media and flyers two on-campus Korea Studies events that included relevant academic and policy experts to an audience of nearly 30 people per event• Compiled, edited, and organized a booklet of over 200 primary source documents for an international conference in less than 1 month

"NSLI-Y is a U.S. Department of State program that provides merit-based scholarships for eligible high school students and recent high school graduates to learn less commonly taught languages in summer and academic-year overseas immersion programs."• Monitored the Korean language progress of 20 American high school students over a period of 6 weeks.• Communicated weekly with American Councils through extensive reports on the well-being of students, budget expenditures, host family engagement, and student attendance.• Produced weekly presentations for the students about a variety of topics including Korean language learning, Korean culture, future education opportunities with the State Department, and reverse culture shock.• Interpreted and translated for the State Department Program Officer of the NSLI-Y program during a 2 day evaluative visit. • Utilized Korean on a daily basis in communicating with 12 Korean staff members at the host institution about program organization and management

"The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs. During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others’ viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things, and the way they think. Through engagement in the community, the individual will interact with their hosts on a one-to-one basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, thereby promoting mutual understanding."• Awarded the Fulbright Scholarship by the United States’ State Department to complete a fully funded year long research project at Yonsei University. • Utilized qualitative (in-person interviews, field research) and quantitative (R programming, data analysis) methods to critically examine the development of South Korea's press with the rise of internet use in the 21st century. • Presented research at the Fulbright Forum in March 2019 and the Fulbright Jeju Conference in April 2019

"The Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) enables students to conduct extended, focused research in close cooperation with a Pomona faculty member. Research projects, which receive funding from Pomona and from public and private foundations, take place both on campus and in the field across the U.S. and the globe. "•Collected data through field work regarding the socio-political climate of South Korea by a categorical analysis of economic development. •Designed a set of research questions for several interviews conducted in Korean and translated into English.•Presented research data to prominent Asian Studies Major donor for Pomona College’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fair.
