I am on a mission to make the world a better place by using graphic design to effect positive change.Massimo Vignelli famously encouraged us to “fight against the ugliness.” While there is a lot of ugliness in the world, we can be a part of the fight against it by bringing in and pointing toward the beautiful—working toward a more just and equitable world for all.AREAS OF EXPERTISE* Strong Communication: Through my years as a Director of Worship and Pastor, I have learned the art of storytelling through the written word, the spoken word, and music—stories that impact the hearts, minds, and lives of real people sitting in the seats week after week.* Big Picture Driven / Detail Focused: While details make the design (Charles Eames), you can never lose sight of the big picture. Keeping them balanced as two sides of the same coin helps keep from getting to lost or too flippant.* Collaboration: Working in multi-site, team based ministry taught me the value of collaboration. We are better together by what we each bring to the table.ACHIEVEMENTS I AM PROUD OF* Being able to give lectures to Concordia University Ann Arbor worship arts students about Digital Stained Glass—a term I use to describe utilizing screens in worship.* While attending Washtenaw Community College (WCC), my illustrations were chosen to run with an article in their award winning student newspaper.* Also while at WCC, my calendar design was chosen by the student services department to be printed and given to new students.* I have a gold record of Coldplay’s “Parachutes” from my time marketing it upon release in America.FUN FACTS* My first concert was David Bowie.* I auditioned for Disney’s “Newsies” (but can’t dance).* I am related to Samuel Huntington, signer of the Declaration of Independence.* INFJ; Enneagram 4w3When I’m not working, you can find me obsessing about my espresso shots, discovering new music, riding my Triumph Street Twin, doing anything with my family, or letting any one of our many animals in or out of the house.I’m actively seeking a new opportunity where I can utilize my design skills to help deliver a clear message in visually engaging ways.
