Assist the Dean in overseeing the financial management function of the Faculty. Roles Includes:Plans, develops and coordinates all budgetary functions, control systems and procedures in accordance with MRU and Academic Affairs policies and standards.In consultation with the Dean/AVP and Budget Managers, plans, develops and coordinates the preparation of annual budget plans (including costing of staffing plans) and financial forecasts based on input from a variety of sources for Dean/AVP and Provost Office approval.In collaboration with Budget Managers, plans, develops, monitors, and reports on all departmental financial related activity, including grants, one-time funding, donations, endowments, and reserves. Works with faculty members, the Dean’s Office and the Provost Office in the development of budget plans for new program proposals.Prepares financial analysis of the Faculty or department’s financial performance; develops options and prepares reports and recommendations for the Dean/AVP and Provost Office. Maintains human resource information and reports on related activities as it relates to financial matters.In consultation with key stakeholders, prepares and monitors quarterly projections and budget allocations ensuring that the financial records for the faculty or department are accurate and complete.Prepares various reports in accordance with the Dean’s Office and Provost Office directions including collective agreement reports, faculty workload analysis, etc.Leads, coordinates, and supports contract administration, risk management, and legislative compliance activities.Participates in Faculty, departmental and divisional projects and initiatives designed to improve operations.Participates in committee meetings at Faculty, divisional and institutional level as required.
