Project title: Investigating biologically inert platinum(IV)-glutamine complexes to maximise their selectivity and utility in personalised cancer therapy.• Project focused on improving the efficacy of current platinum(II) anticancer drugs by selectively targeting glutamine transporters that are overexpressed in cancer cells.• Synthesised and purified novel chemical complexes using a variety of chromatographic techniques, including Thin layer chromatography (TLC), Ion-exchange chromatography (IEC) and automated chromatography systems. • Applied analytical techniques including Mass spectrometry (MS), Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), infrared spectroscopy (IR) and statistical tools for the structural elucidation of new compounds. • Skilled in fundamental cell culture techniques and cytotoxicity assays to evaluate the biological inertness of complexes. • Proficient in mRNA synthesis and use of animal models in biological studies.• Demonstrated research versatility by conducting comprehensive literature reviews, formulating research plans, and disseminating findings at scientific conferences.
