At first I was responsible for a small therapy group of 10-12 girls and then moved into a supervisory role of all of the counselor - teachers and their therapy groups for a total of 55-60 youth and about 15 counselor-teachers. We lived in wilderness education camping setting started by Jack Eckerd where we built all of the structures - sleeping tents, cook tents, dining tents, wood tent, etc. We designed all the structures that we built. Our tents were built from pine trees that we cut down, skinned, knotched, and set.At that time we took a lot of river trips. My longest canoe trip was on the Swannee River for 21 days canoeing and cooking all meals over open fire. The campers average camp stay was 1 year. I spent about 1 year of my 4 years on the river. I canoed the Swannee River, Conecuh River, Ocklawaha River, Silver River, Withlacoochee River, Blackwater River, and probably more that I can't remember.
