I managed a team of door-to-door fundraising eco-warriors battling to expand clean water protections for streams, lakes, and rivers in my home state of Connecticut.I was responsible for handling and tallying donations, ensuring staff safety, delegating and assigning strategic tactics and locations, working with my managers on higher-level fundraising planning, and meeting fundraising quotas myself. While this role was seasonal, by the end of the summer my performance had been so exemplary that I was offered a position managing the Albuquerque, New Mexico PIRG office. While I declined this offer, I am grateful for everything that I learned from time time with Conn PIRG. Today I still use the skills I learned there; like how to manage a field team and how important it is to put 100% of myself physically and emotionally into causes I believe in. I consider my time at Conn PIRG to be a valuable part of my career growth as well as my philosophical growth.
