As the Head of Data, I led a talented team of six dedicated to solving complex problems and delivering high-quality data to drive the business forward. Together, we focused on transforming data architecture to ensure that up-to-date, high-integrity, secure data was available for critical, data-driven decision-making across the organisation. I was fortunate to work with such an exceptional group, and our collaborative efforts shaped the strategic direction of our data initiatives, aligning them with overall business objectives to maximise impact.Our responsibilities included connecting new data sources, such as Google Analytics GA4, and automating migrations from Salesforce to Chatwoot and ReadMe.io, which encompassed knowledge articles. This involved successfully migrating all images and attachments from Salesforce to an FTP Dropbox and programmatically updating links.While I provided leadership, it was my team's collective expertise that allowed us to maintain hands-on technical involvement, developing and optimising our data platform, addressing live issues, and supporting each other through technical roadblocks. Together, we reviewed code and solutions, ensuring we architected scalable, best-practice data solutions that aligned with the company’s long-term strategic vision.Additionally, I had the privilege of providing data for and hosting a monthly business performance meeting with executives and board members, where we collectively offered insights on the views of the business and held other leaders accountable to their metrics. Our shared strategic insights guided the business toward a scalable, cost-effective data platform that enhanced decision-making and drove long-term success.

As a Data Engineer, I developed a custom ETL platform using Node.js to automate the data flow from internal monolithic systems into a data lake and AWS RDS-based data warehouse (internally named DataCentral), streamlining data architecture for greater efficiency. I also automated reporting processes to integrate disparate data sources, such as Salesforce and Marketing Cloud, with internal financial systems, providing a more holistic view of business performance. I was a key part of automating the finance month-end process, reducing it from over 25 days to just 2 days, dramatically improving operational efficiency. Additionally, I took on general data team lead and management responsibilities, contributing to the overall strategy and execution of data-driven initiatives.
