Led the AWS load balancing team responsible for service traffic across multiple critical Amazon services, including the retail website, Amazon Instant Video, Alexa, and Kindle. Managed large engineering team that owned load balancing capacity and hardware lifecycle. Responsible for the capacity planning product roadmap. Coordinated the hardware and network scaling components of preparing for Amazon’s busiest (peak) days on Prime Day and Black Friday in 2017 and 2018: oversaw the most successful peak days in team history with no customer impact and no loss in revenue due to load balancing issues. Coordinated with multiple stakeholders across Amazon to raise the security and availability bar of services hosted on the load balancing platform.

The team was directly responsible for a wide variety of features within the cloud product, spanning the entire development lifecycle from design to deployment into production. Encouraged culture of accountability and ownership, with developers owning code quality from inception into production via pairing, unit testing, and support. Expanded the cloud product into new geographical locations and worked with the team to automate as much of the process as possible.
