Since 2003 pioneering engineers of ocean wave energy technologies at Oregon State University have been developing new ideas and technologies. At OSU, Joe began the development of direct drive wave energy conversion designs, including permanent magnet tubular linear generators. This research lead to more advanced direct drive systems research. C·Power (Columbia Power Technologies, Inc.) was created by investors and the research at Oregon State University. Since 2005, Joe with a small group of primary engineers has been developing, modeling, testing, researching and deploying new wave energy converter (WEC) technologies.
