Currently the founding Vice-Director of Boarding at BASIS International and Bilingual School in Wuhan. Previously, I was Dean of Boarding at BASIS International School in Wuhan. Before arriving in China, I was the Associate Headteacher and boarding/residence head at International School Brunei. Joining ISB senior management team in January 2020, after 5 months at ISB. In addition to my senior role, I teach Global Politics and PE and have also taught IGCSE and IB business studies. I am blessed with a beautiful, supportive family who inspires me daily.My previous employment included 17 years as a senior manager, director of sports, physical education and business teacher, head of boarding, senior boarding master and international marketer at Buckswood International School in the UK. I was heavily involved in school sports, marketing, and promotion locally and globally.From student and parent communication to professional collaboration with colleagues, my nearly 20 years of boarding school experience have prepared me for all aspects of school life. Instilling a culture, ethos, and structures in my boarding school gives my students a positive outlook on life. Educational holisticism. In addition to running the boarding house, I have helped plan the school's long-term vision, make strategic decisions, market and recruit scholars and staff worldwide, lead and organise educational trips locally and internationally, and lead an annual charity trip to Africa. Buckswood International School had 60 international boarders and 30-day students in 2003. In 2016, the school had 280 international boarders and 200 day students. I contributed to the school's success with an inspiring owner and great team. Aiming to improve the product, develop new programmes and carve out a niche in the competitive international boarding school market. Self-analysis is essential to succeed and enhance facilities and products. We were the first secondary school in the UK to set up a football academy and partner with a Premiership club. Chelsea Foundation had a dedicated office at the school and a Chelsea coach to teach football to junior academy players. Over 100 students from around the world joined the school's football academy, and over the last decade, more than a dozen have gone on to play professionally.Marketing a boarding school has always intrigued me. The market has become more competitive as more British schools have opened abroad, necessitating more frequent positioning and reflection. This inspired me to complete a Master of Arts in Residential Education.
