Key responsibilities and the main focus of the role are to build regional HSE team capacity and perform effective HSE internal stakeholder engagement activities, including: Coach and mentor operational leaders to help them improve their own HSE performance and embed safety leadership practices for a proactive risk management safety cultureFacilitate risk management and monitor and report on the effectiveness of critical controls and HSE management system implementationLead initiatives to support agreed Pacific National HSE strategic initiatives and tactics for improving operational safety performance including building the capability of the workforce to identify hazards and perform risk reviewsParticipate in audit and compliance assurance activities within the compliance framework, standard and proceduresFacilitate investigations within the PN investigation framework, standard and proceduresDeliver training to the workforce to ensure the effective implementation and integration of the company enterprise management system and HSE applications

As a valuable member of the team I provide ER services including emergency medical care in a professional, proactive manner and in accordance with Northparkes Mines scope of work and standard operating procedures. The role ensures that the site is maintained in a state of emergency response readiness and provides a safe environment for all users.

Emergency ResponseLead and Coordinate a Team of Full time and Volunteers to:• Respond to all emergency situations and assist in coordination of response activities.• Provide leadership input to the development of Emergency Response training programs and assist in the delivery of training to emergency response volunteer personnel and fulltime Emergency Response Officers• Coordinate preventative maintenance inspections of all on site emergency response equipment • The continued development, implementation and maintenance of the emergency management competency profiles, policies and procedures• Ensure Northparkes Mines remains in a state of preparedness for any likely emergency situation• Monitor the emergency response and ERT members for compliance with legislation and company standards• Coordinate Emergency Response Officers and Access Control Team in providing a first aid service to employees or persons who become ill or injured at NPM including initial evaluation, injury management and developing and monitoring return to work plans.• Assist the HSE team in programs such as health education, accident prevention, incident investigation, planned inspections, alcohol and drug testing, emergency relief if Access Control shifts cannot be filled and emergency response activities in accordance with the NPM Emergency Management Plan• Develop training packages for site as required and assist in training i.e Confined Space, Apply First Aid etcAccess ControlLead and Coordinate a Team : • Control access to the Northparkes Mine site• Maintain Access Control’s First Aid room and provisions• Ensure that personnel treatment records are maintained in a secure location to preserve privacy and maintain strict confidentiality• Develop and follow all Standard Operating Procedures and processes relevant to Access Control• Maintain all necessary skills including annual refreshers in order to perform the necessary work

Job Function: • Train, develop, assess and supervise Army personnel in all facets of emergency response and medical treatment• Directly responsible for emergency response team of 30 fulltime personnel • Liaise with management and staff regarding personnel recommendations and advice on policies and procedures• Coordinate emergency response in the areas of aircraft crash rescue, fire fighting, domestic and industrial and high angle rescue • Coordinate the safe handling, storage, control, spills and disposal of hazardous chemicals and materials• Control all assets, both military and civilian, at fire, hazardous materials and rescue incidents during operations, in the field and barracks.• Ensure all emergency response policy and guidelines are regularly adhered to through regular assessment, reporting and feedback
