As the Boston Fed's sole social media coordinator, I manage the Bank’s online presence on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. I am responsible for all stages of a social media campaign: conceptualization, drafting, editing, publishing, and analyzing. I collaborate with colleagues in countless ways with various departments to create engaging social media content that raises awareness of the Bank’s work.I’ve created and implemented several unique social media strategies including paid social media promotion, how-to guides on using LinkedIn for employees, and building an online persona for the Bank’s president via Twitter. I enhanced other aspects of the social media strategy including comprehensive analytics, live-tweeting, and social media toolkits for other Federal Reserve Banks to copy, paste, and share Boston Fed content.As we grow the Bank’s social presence, we are recruiting more leadership and employees to participate in the online conversation via outreach, training, and education.The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston does much more than set interest rates and make financial decisions. The Bank researches and reports on the local and national economy, like how COVID-19 disproportionately affected women and minorities, rejuvenates the economies in New England’s cities and communities through Working Places, and leads conversations about the economic implications of racism in the United States. #RacismandtheEconomy

While serving abroad in Yokosuka, Japan, I independently deployed in 7th Fleet and 3rd Fleet areas of responsibility to manage and contribute to seven ships' public affairs and digital media departments as a photojournalist and digital media specialist. I was responsible for producing and publishing media content, organizing and documenting international events during port visits, and drafting news releases. If you ever see images or video produced by the U.S. Navy, that's what I had the pleasure of doing.Throughout my time in Japan, the Navy sent me to Australia, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Singapore and American Samoa to meet with foreign dignitaries, build US international relations, and immerse in the cultures.I generated over 1,300 published media products documenting and preserving the history of the Navy.

This position was my introduction to military public affairs. I changed my rate (military job) from Undesignated Seaman to Mass Communication Specialist aboard America's Ship of State, USS Constitution. I joined the ship's public affairs team and learned the ins and outs of photography, videography, journalism, and digital design and fine-tuned my skills in social media management, digital media marketing, and public relations. During my one year in the department, I documented the crew and ship’s historic dry dock with 250 published photos and 12 news releases; managed the ship’s social media accounts with an overall reach of 76,000+ fans; and photographed and interacted with distinguished guests and high profile events.
