In this new role, I lead the second phase of our Alumni Program (now called the UrbanPromise Charlotte Fellows Program) and oversee our UrbanTrekkers experiential learning program that serves both our high school StreetLeaders and graduated StreetLeader Alumni.Our Fellows Program was developed to provide intentional supportive structures for Alumni as they overcome barriers unique to first generation college and career bound young adults. I provide guidance that empowers them to persist to completion of their pathways and work to increase their access to internship and first job opportunities that enhance their achievement of a meaningful career and life.I am actively seeking relationships with employers and organizations who are interested in working with our Fellows and share our investment in connecting them with meaningful internship and career growth opportunities.

UrbanTrekkers is a program at UrbanPromise Charlotte that gives our 100+ high-school-aged StreetLeaders and vast Alumni community experiential learning opportunities in the form of overnight trips and day trips. As Co-Director, I help to plan, facilitate and lead adventurous excursions for our students that grow their leadership, develop their character and expose them to unique experiences. We have planned and facilitated over 30 experiential learning trips for members of the UrbanPromise Charlotte community since our program started in 2019.Over the last several years we've been able to plan and host new multi-day, high impact Capstone Treks for our community of high school StreetLeaders and college-aged Alumni to visit amazing destinations like Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks in Utah, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, California. These Capstone Treks are provided at no cost to our participants through a generous grant from The Gambrell Foundation.

As the StreetLeader Director for our Idlewild site, I oversee the academic, personal, leadership and spiritual development of our high school staff members—called StreetLeaders—who serve as mentors for the younger children who are part of our afterschool and summer programs.

In this consulting role, I support the leadership team by delivering on key programming goals, including organizing professional development opportunities for staff members from member organizations and planning signature events like the Beating the Odds Summit for Crescent Coalition students.The Crescent Coalition connects community-based organizations serving under-resourced students along their journey from middle school through college graduation and successful careers, and students representing all Crescent Coalition organizations and affiliate partners attended, including The Academy of Goal Achievers, Carolina Youth Coalition, Friedland Foundation, GenOne, Greater Steps Scholars, MeckEd, Road to Hire, UrbanPromise Charlotte and Wayfinders.

In this part-time consulting role, I provided support to the Leading on Opportunity team and Crescent Coalition members by executing programming deliverables and events identified by the leadership team. This consulting work involved leading the team of twelve staff members across multiple organizations who were responsible for planning and executing the Crescent Coalition's inaugural Beating the Odds Summit held for college-bound students in Charlotte on Friday, June 21st.Hosted in partnership with facilitators and volunteers from multiple Charlotte-area colleges, universities and corporations, this jam-packed one-day conference hosted at Central Piedmont Community College invited students from nine Crescent Coalition organizations and affiliates to a day filled with dynamic workshops, engaging speakers, raffle prizes, "college survival kits" and more.The Crescent Coalition connects community-based organizations serving under-resourced students along their journey from middle school through college graduation and successful careers, and students representing all Crescent Coalition organizations and affiliate partners attended, including The Academy of Goal Achievers, Carolina Youth Coalition, Friedland Foundation, GenOne, Greater Steps Scholars, MeckEd, Road to Hire, UrbanPromise Charlotte and Wayfinders.The event’s impact on our students was significant, with two out of three student attendees sharing that they felt more prepared for college as a result of attending the Summit, and 93% of students, facilitators, exhibitors and volunteers rated their time at the Summit as a positive experience. The Beating the Odds Summit is a powerful demonstration of the impact that collaboration among community-based organizations can have on first-generation college students across our city.

As a Teach For America Corps Member, I worked hard to deliver quality Science instruction at the high school level with the goal of helping a diverse group of students have the chance to go to the college of their dreams or obtain the career of their dreams.

As a 9th Grade Earth & Environmental Science teacher at Harding University High School, I led diverse classrooms of students toward creating and meeting ambitious academic and personal goals. I worked alongside a team of teachers to build high-quality, rigorous lesson plans and assessments with the goal of seeing students exceed growth expectations on their End-of-Year course exams.

I was responsible for designing and implementing our strategy for communicating with our 120 student leaders. Additionally, I led a team of six people who create videos for our weekly large group meetings. I served as an emcee, communicating our organization's vision in front of five hundred people involved in our organization on campus and led an underclassmen bible study, creating and communicating relevant content to the group on a weekly basis.

I developed our organization's marketing, financials and expansion areas, creating detailed reports and strategy suggestions designed to grow our donor base and maximize the relationships we have with our clients.

I founded and led a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with the vision of creatively marketing to high school and college students, implementing key changes in strategy as we pivoted to better reach our target market over the course the organization's four-year life.

I provided excellent customer service to all people who entered the store and learned the value of servant leadership through a mentorship by the Store Owner and managers.
