I'm an active transportation planner working on a variety of projects including bicycle and pedestrian master plans, bike share feasibility studies, Complete Streets guidelines, and multiple Safe Routes to School (SRTS) initiatives. Although a lot of my work is concentrated in the Mid-Atlantic, I am broadening the geographic scope of my work as the Project Manager for the Meigs County, OH Active Transportation Plan and as the Deputy Project Manager for the Austin, TX Safe Routes to School Infrastructure Plan. I am a pop-up demonstration enthusiast, having gotten my first taste working on the inaugural Open Streets event in Howard County in 2015. I collaborated with the City of Charlottesville on an all-day demonstration event designed to introduce the public to the concepts included in the City’s Streets That Work Design Guidelines. The event took place just blocks from the downtown pedestrian mall and generated a lot of interest from visitors. Pop-up demonstrations have also been a part of my SRTS work, developing concepts and setting up demonstrations during the school travel planning process in Georgia, and leading trainings on how to develop and implement pop-up demonstrations for local SRTS coordinators in Virginia and Washington DC metro region.

Edited questions to fit online format, promoted the survey and summarized over 600 responses for use in future planning endeavors. • Bicycle and Pedestrian Environmental Quality Index (BPEQI). Oversaw the first measurement of bicycle and pedestrian level of service in Charlottesville. • Street Redesigns. Compiled existing conditions information, sketched design alternatives with improved bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and attended public meetings to incorporate feedback.• Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Created base maps as needed for specific projects and conducted field surveys to populate city-wide streets database.
