My responsibility include on the steering committee to determine if a community bank was viable for the district. Fundraising and local community POC as an owner of a 7 day a week business. Once the bank was opened I was one of the founding board members and in my last year of involvement the treasurer. Over the last two years I hold the Treasurer and Chairs position.

Providing:• Commercial management – finance support, cost control, budgeting, identifying opportunities and risks, mitigation strategies, revenue and labour analysis.• Contract Management & Administration-customer interaction, negotiation, participation in tender analysis and contract terms and conditions reviews, scope changes and variations including liaising with contractors to ensure provision of cost effective solutions.• Business Development – support the BD team with tender responses and costing of business opportunities with new and existing contracts. We owned,managed and worked in the news agency 7 days a week. We improved the overall standard, appearance and quality of the products and services provided by the "corner stone" of the Main Street of Trentham. We grew the business from a low profit and capital business to one worth three times as much and a profit worthy of our time and efforts in growing the business. This was within 3 years and during the GFC and weathering the downturn of newspaper sales.

ACHIEVEMENTS• Management of the capital budget for the new $10 mil development to build a facility to increase the bed numbers from 60 to 90. Enabling the board to fully fund the project without requiring assistance from lending facilities.• Improvements in financial and payroll process to ensure tighter controls over cash flow and employee payments.• Ensure any change in legislation relating to aged care funding and resident payments was implemented a timely manner and communicated to the board.• On leaving as an employee due to the newsagency, I was asked and accepted a place on the board.

ACHIEVEMENTS• Improvement in the timing of the financial reporting and balance sheet substantiation due to the position being vacant for over 12 months• Improvement of the budgeting to more accurately reflect the forecasted performance of the region• Worked with the Serco Group to provide costing analysis and management of the cleaning, security and facility support services to the Great Southern Railway contract. Attended regular meeting with the Serco commercial team members to ensure both parties agree on levels of service in comparison to the cost.• Improved the level of understanding of the financial reports and budgeting process of the management team through one on one training• Involvement in improving the financial performance of the regional business through tight controls on expenditure and improved quoting processes and understanding by service line managers
