The owner likes to switch things up to see what strengths he can find within his staff. This position lasted 3 months. I was then moved to fill the void of office manager. Office Manager: Started July 8th. Not having any previous experience with this position or level of responsibilities. This was a huge test for me via the owner/engineer. I was responsible for running the everyday needs for the front office . Pulling info for application for City/County submittals as well as prepping plans to go with. Accounts receivable. Gathering hours for all employees to submit to our payroll company. Inputting received packets from payroll office within our in-house spread sheets along with QuickBooks. Making all deliveries & pick ups. Maintaining office supplies and cleanliness. Take incoming calls. Take on small tasks for clients when the engineer was out/unavailable. Vet prospected job sites, collecting utility/zoning info, for clients in order for them gather numbers for cost of build. Working with three departments to track job updates. Social Security Administration, HireRight Call Center, East Gate Nutrition, Office space within EastGate which was postponed/canceled as we were framing out. HireRight expansion #2. I'd meet with each foreman and/or crew to explain expectations and safety PPE's for the job while walking the sites to ensure all were on the same page. In the duration of each job, I was able to learn the trades coming into each site by taking time out and working with each of them on their tasks. It could be as simple as assisting with hauling out trash to the dumpster, unloading trucks, pulling wires around difficult corners, and even sweeping the floor so the trades could work longer to finish vs having to worry about stopping to clean up.
