New position within TCF's Technology/Engineering group, reporting to TCF's Chief Technology Officer, handling business and legal affairs for a wide range of content protection-related and other cutting-edge technology projects, such as the application of AI and machine learning to media assets, advanced production and display technologies (HDR, VR, AR, mixed-reality, etc.), next-gen entertainment for autonomous vehicles, and the impact of 5G technology on media distribution. Position also entailed:• Ongoing work on ATSC 3.0 broadcasting content protection technology and licensing• Key role in setting up and managing the HDR10+ JV with Samsung and Panasonic• Co-representation of Fox at the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), at Motion Picture Laboratories, Inc. (MovieLabs) and at multi-industry standard-setting organizations like the UHDA• Public and private speaking on content protection matters

Substantial strategic, transactional and counseling responsibilities for home entertainment subsidiary of a major motion picture studio, including: representation of the studio in multi-industry DVD copy protection negotiations and service as a member of the initial Board of Directors of the DVD Copy Control Association; representation of the studio in multilateral negotiations with Digital Transmission Licensing Administrator (DTLA or 5C) and with Intel, with respect to technological protection of content transmitted by new digital outputs; domestic wholesale and retail home video distribution agreements including the initial set of agreements that were based on a revenue-sharing model; licensing out of home video distribution rights in various international territories; and domestic and international antitrust, copyright (including with respect to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act), trademark, securities and other regulatory counseling.
