The Policy Entrepreneurship Fellowship (PEF) empowers and guides selected early-career participants to move their policy proposals from idea to reality. During this six-month experience, each PEF works as a part-time FAS affiliate to (i) help their specific ideas gain traction among practitioners and decision makers, and (ii) identify and pursue opportunities for impact in underlying policy areas of interest. PEF participants receive a $5,000 stipend as well as ongoing guidance from policy and technical experts in the FAS community, opportunities for formal training on topics like budgetary analysis and science communication, access to FAS programming and facilities, professional editing services, and more.Read more about the team here: https://fas.org/issues/science-policy/

Design for Equitable Systems is working with young activists who care about deconstructing inequitable systems and redesigning for justice. As we build our first co-hort, we are emphasizing inclusion of those individuals typically left out of educational programming around deconstructing systemic injustice because they 1) can't afford it and/or 2) don't live in a big city or place where such curriculum can be offered. We believe that there should be no barriers to wanting to engage in sustainable activism, and want to address leaky pipelines that lead to the social good space being predominantly white and upper-income. I am a volunteer working to respond to emerging challenges of COVID-19 through a human-centered design approach. Part of the user experience research team for Second Day's first co-hort. In charge of organizing and conducting exit interviews, designing and hosting focus groups, analyzing survey data, and then transforming all of these insights into opportunities for future program improvement. I collaborate with the co-founders in addition to other teams working on external research of best practices. Ultimate outcome of my work will be a recommend revision to the Second Day Impact Fellowship curriculum.

My platform is dedicated to educational excellence and opportunity, student health and wellbeing, sustainability, access and inclusion, and championing student ideas. Lead an organization of over 100 student leaders. Created an external objectives plan derived by 3,000 student responses. Academically support and mentor students in MSNE201: Intro to Nanoengineering,which is the introductory course for the major. Assist in organizing office hours,giving feedback on projects, leading review sessions, and grading.

- Currently, I am working on developing free-standing mechanically-strong covalent organic framework films for applications in solar cells and OFETs. Presented work at the Smalley-Curl Summer Colloquium and will continue to work towards a publication during the school year.- Formerly, worked on a methodology for photopolymerization through ATRP and RAFT utilizing semiconductor quantum dots. The RAFT methodology was used to create one-pot inorganic-organic nanocomposites of QD and polymer that could in the future be applied to biosensing. I presented my work on quantum-dot mediated ATRP in polar solvents at the Rice Undergraduate Research Symposium in April 2018. Several academic papers are currently in preparation from this work for publishing.- Named member of Rice Undergraduates Scholars Program for my work & received Paul Paslay Endowment Undergraduate Summer Research Internship Grant to support my research.

- Utilize education, service, technology, and martial arts to empower young people to eradicate violence. - Have impacted 5,000 young people and 87,000 violence survivors + raised $800,000 for violence survivors- Organized international service trips to India and Guatemala to work with communities there to alleviate violence against women.- Speaking Experiences include: TedxRiceU, Out for Undergrad Engineering Conference (finalist in the speaking competition), the Emotion Revolution Summit, and the 2018 Reagan Leadership Summit. Selected by General Electric as one of 10 out of over 500 applicants to participate in a cultural, economic and diplomatic immersion experience in Poland. Met with high-ranking officials in the Polish government, including President Andrzej Duda, learned about economic growth after the fall of the Soviet Union, toured General Electric facilities and discussed technological achievements in the country, and engaged in critical dialogue around Poland's history.
