Making a positive impact on the world has been at the cornerstone of my professional life, since even before my career started, when I was inducted as a board member of the Red Cross while at university.As a Communications Advisor for an Omani ports company, I, the only Western woman in a traditional community of conservative families started a movement to unite locals and expats in a way which empowered those previously unable to be self-sufficient. I also devised and delivered a Health and Safety Awareness program for more than 500 illiterate, non-English speaking employees.During my time at a communications agency in Dubai, I led research for a nationwide, privately funded ecological and environmental campaign which gained governmental support. I also developed and implemented PR, Marketing and Social Media strategies for clients across aviation, retail, museums and the largest global MMA promotion company.The character traits - resilience, flexibility, enthusiasm and positivity - which have seen me live and work in three vastly different countries and cultures are ever-present in my work life. I recently pursued a MSc. in Political Communication and am currently working as a Communications Advisor at SodM.
