I am a career professional with over thirty years of experience in the offshore oil and gas, onshore petrochemical, Mining, Waste Management, Power station, and Foundry industries. These experiences were acquired on numerous EPC/PMC/EPCM projects throughout Australia, Africa, Asia, and China.In addition, I have gained extensive experience in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Quality-, and Welding Engineering, Procurement Management, Project reporting as well as Owner management roles.My career progression has given me a valuable combination of hands-on experience through to managerial and owner responsibility enabling me to evaluate and address situations not only from a practical/technical point of view but also from an overall project requirements perspective.Control of main and sub-contractor activities from procurement, and procedural review through to handover and turnover of MDRs to the client.Responsibilities include selecting, recruiting, and managing a team of highly qualified professional engineers and inspectors on several high-value projects.I have gained an appreciation of multi-cultures in the workplace and this has given me extensive insight into managing cross-cultural elements of large projects in Asia, Africa, China, and Australia.The opportunity of working as owner, owner, and contractor’s representative has given me valuable insight into project requirements and how best to achieve the correct level of quality while maintaining schedule and cost. Earlier in my career I gained invaluable experience from McKinsey/Deloitte and Touche – conducting feasibility studies on the BHP Billiton Smelter operations on operation management activities during the restructuring phase, providing the motivation, identification, and allocation of suitable contractors via procurement procedures.I am in the process of relocating to the Netherlands together with my wife who is a Dutch citizen.
