Slate Opportunity Funds I/II (Feb 2020 - July 2021)- Led the asset management, property management and leasing functions for Slate Asset Management's most diverse business unit, with investments ranging from condo development sites in Toronto, to office properties in Calgary and an enclosed shipping mall in rural New Brunswick- Reported both short and long-term business performance to key stakeholders including members of the Slate Executive Management Committee and significant external investors via oral and written presentations Slate Grocery REIT (Apr 2016 - Jan 2020)- Member of the investment review team, which was responsible for the acquisitions of over $500M worth of grocery anchored shopping centres from Apr 2016 to Sept 2018. SRT purchased over 25 shopping centres, growing its asset base by greater than 40% during this period of rapid expansion- Through active asset management, created value in the following instances: -> Over the course of two years, negotiated a cash payment of ~$1M and lease termination from the existing grocery anchor tenancy at a centre slated for redevelopment. Subsequently executed a 15-year lease with the new grocer to backfill the anchor unit and planned a capital program to aide in the revitalization of the shopping centre -> Led the acquisition of a greenfield development site, oversaw the construction of a 13K SF retail outbuilding and achieved substantial lease-up of the project -> Led the severance and disposition of a vacant parcel of land, which was deemed surplus as well as the disposition of several retail buildings- Executed over 1.1M SF of new and renewal leasing. Completed new leasing with national tenants such as McDonald's, Starbucks and Fresenius Medical Care, among others - Developed strong relationships with the real estate teams for the leading grocers in America
