Having tried nearly 1000 cases as an attorney I think it is safe to say I am a prolific and experienced litigator. While the majority of my experience has been as a criminal prosecutor my private practice has focused primarily on immigration and social security. But my true passion as an attorney has been promoting access to justice and achieving racial equity. I have worked extensively with both state and local bar association, legal service providers and underrepresented and underserviced communities to find innovative solutions to improve access to justice.My greatest achievements and accomplishments have been through my three decades of work with nonprofits, from developing programs and services to raising money, helping boards define their mission and implement strategic plans to empowering communities to find their own solutions as to combat oppression, planning large events and coordinating a citizens’ initiative. I am very grateful for the recent opportunity to serve two years as an AmeriCorps/VISTA, first with Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets and then with Solid Ground. Both experiences have enriched my life by allowing me to learn from the communities I served.I am ready to embark on the next phrase of my professional career. Hopefully it will be one where I can continue to do public service and use my gifts and talents to make this a better place for all of us to live. I am open to unseen possibilities and opportunities.
