I am a study in contradictions. To name a few:• I grew up on a farm, but I have a very limited palate for country music. • I am a former offensive lineman, but I enjoy running. • I have been called both a "wise old soul" and a "kid at heart". • I lead well, but also do some of my best work from behind the scenes. • I work in a field completely unrelated to my degree. • I am both a problem solver and a dreamer. Odd as it may seem, I have found that leaning into the juncture of these apparent conflict points has become a source of great strength. I find that:• The few country songs that I enjoy tie into very specific good memories from growing up. • Running trains my body and conditions my mind. • As a "wise old soul" I have a knack for grasping what to do in difficult situations, but being a "kid at • heart" helps me maintain perspective and levity in my life. • Experience behind the scenes gives me tools as a leader to recognize and empower the people I lead.• A history degree gave me skills of research, understanding complex systems, and a habit of always • keeping one eye out for unintended consequences, all of which are incredibly useful tools in a • manufacturing environment.• A love of problem-solving and dreaming combine to create VISION. Recently, a mentor helped me finally grasp what it means to build and have a vision for life, and without slipping into hyperbole, it was a life-changing revelation. Vision connects the visceral thrill of laboring toward a solution with the growing excitement of the “what-if….” inching closer to reality. Vision pulls the future into the present and lays the tracks for the present to drive upon into the future. Vision is what motivates the endurance of short term suffering for long term gain.My passion is to help others achieve the same sense of purpose and agency that I found when I found my vision. I love to help the people around me picture and attain a future that always seemed out of reach, or even worse, was unseen and unknown. Whether it’s mentoring one of my youth in my church youth group, or encouraging a co-worker to put in for a role they would be great at, I try to help the people around me see what could be and help equip them to begin that journey. Reach out to me if you ever want to talk about anything related to inventory control, vision-casting, or FCS football (THE BEST LEVEL). I can’t wait to chat!
