I joined as a Runner and worked my way into Head Runner, then Technical Operator/ Edit Assistant, and was soon promoted to Senior level based on strong technical abilities and team leadership. I was responsible for the mentorship of new staff on top of a host of demanding jobs including, but not limited to, full QARs to ensure programmes conformed to British broadcast standards and up-resing low-resolution media to high-resolution.- Received commendations in company newsletters for dedication and effort.- Implemented various department workflows to solve technical issues such as a means of locating muted sound files within Avid timelines.- Entrusted to be the sole Edit Assistant to build and support a remote edit suite in Birmingham.

As Head Runner it is my job to oversee the day to day operation of the facility on a micro level. I command 14 staff below me, and report directly to the facility manager. The job remains much the same as a normal runner, but with added responsibilities and expectations. Responsibilities include: - Readying the building for the day.- Preparing breakfasts, drinks, and anything else clients and staff would like.- Taking lunch orders, and buying lunch for staff and clients.- General building maintenance and cleaning. - Performing receptionist duties when needed.- Mastering an exceptional telephone etiquette. - Being an approachable, friendly face for clients and staff; willing to go above and beyond to fulfil a client's needs.- Handling Money.- Organising staff.- Managing workflow.- Liaising with other departments and clients regarding money, and other issues.- Taking stock count and compiling weekly shopping lists.- Oversee, and drive the training of new staff, work experience & trial days. - Organise weekly buffets for average 50 - 80 people.
