Just-in-Time (JIT)My scope: 1. Materials planning and control:Based on the sales forecast and production plans, the materials planning and control is done. This involves estimating the individual requirements of parts, preparing materials budget, forecasting the levels of inventories, scheduling the orders and monitoring the performance in relation to production and sales.2. Purchasing:This includes selection of sources of supply finalization in terms of purchase, placement of purchase orders, maintenance of smooth relations with suppliers, approval of payments to suppliers, evaluating and rating suppliers.3. Warehouse management:This involves physical control of materials, preservation of warehouse, minimization of obsolescence and damage through timely disposal and efficient handling, maintenance of warehouse records, proper location and stocking.4. Inventory control or management:Inventory generally refers to the materials in stock. Inventories represent those items, which are either stocked for sale or they are in the process of manufacturing or they are in the form of materials, which are yet to be utilized. The interval between receiving the purchased parts and transforming them into final products depends upon the cycle time of manufacture. It is, therefore, necessary to hold inventories of various kinds to act as a buffer between supply and demand for efficient operation of the system. Thus, an effective control on inventory is a must for smooth and efficient running of the production cycle with least interruptions.

• Responsible for identifying and qualifying sourcing partners, purchasing, and production planning activities for all products produced.• Manage strategic supply sources that impact production, quality or key components for savings potential or sales growth. Preside over supplier strategies and/or change as needed to improve cost and quality• Identify changes in commodity markets that could affect supplier’s quality, cost, and ability to support demand.• Set up or maintain supply processes to ensure an uninterrupted flow of material. Target of 6 turns being maintained at 8 with consignment, min/max, line stock, VMI and local inventory warehouses.• Ensure work orders, capacity, product mix, changeovers and larger margin jobs are on target for monthly financials.• Outsourcing and project/material savings between 5% - 40%. Provide purchasing support to all functional areas, ensuring purchasing representation and participation in all issues related to meeting business plan and team objectives. • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to resolve supplier quality issues in a timeframe that doesn’t inhibit sales commitments• Maintain and ensure all processes are running efficiently such as production schedules, line stock, QC Holds, Containers in transit, and delivery timelines. • Investigate and resolve AP discrepancies related to purchase order pricing and invoicing• Execute, participate or adhere to all corporate policies and plant projects such as On Time Delivery, Min/Max reports, and supplier audits.• Responsible for multiple commodity items with over 10,000 active SKU’s and spend of $40M. Planned all material requirements, deliveries, and inventory within a defined deck of parts. • Created purchase orders and negotiated terms, price or stock to meet production plans.
