I’ve been a jobbing hack for far too long and the only thing that really counts is the last story and the next one, but if you’d like a quick recap, here goes:I currently write Long Read features for The Independent, theatre reviews for The Oldie, travel stories for The Telegraph and various stuff for The Spectator.I’ve written several books, including One Leg Too Few - The Adventures of Peter Cook & Dudley Moore, The Comedy Store - The Club That Changed British Comedy, Ha Bloody Ha - Comedians Talking and Morecambe & Wise Untold.I’ve also edited several books, including Tragically I Was An Only Twin - The Complete Peter Cook, Eric Morecambe Unseen, and Kiss Me Chudleigh - The World According to Auberon Waugh.I’ve won various prizes for my travel writing about Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, including the Johann Strauss Gold Medal for my reporting from Vienna.My father’s family come from Germany and I have dual Anglo-German citizenship.
