I am currently the Cabinet Member for Better Homes, Neighbourhoods and Homelessness at the London Borough of Lewisham. My Cabinet role involves managing homes throughout our borough, from the thousands of social homes we directly manage, to regulation and licensing in the private sector. Previously I have worked as a Senior Caseworker for Vicky Foxcroft MP and also as her Political Assistant in the House of Commons. Safe and secure housing is my greatest passion and I believe social housing in particular should be central to growth, stability and mental wellbeing across all our communities. I have been an active member of the Labour Party since I was 18 and am an experienced election agent at a local and national level. I have been responsible for the nomination, expenses and legal duties of dozens of parliamentary and local election candidates since 2011. I have held various positions in constituency Labour parties and and Chair of Lewisham Co-operative Party. I also sit as a trustee on the Millwall Community Trust and am a season ticket holder and avid follower of Lewisham Borough Community Football Club.

I have been in this role for 18 months after being moved in the office to solve some team issues and deal with a large backlog of constituency casework. Since managing the casework team we have consistently met all targets set, and responded to all constituency casework within ten working days, despite being one of the busiest offices within the House of Commons. In our office our main focus is dealing with constituents casework, this ensures that we are effectively assisting constituents and making sure agencies, companies and local authorities are carrying out their duty to our residents. This work is vital when it comes to our Member's reputation as a community champion. -

My role as Parliamentary Assistant saw become well versed at the inner working of the House of Commons. During this role I was responsible for the following: - Tabling written and oral parliamentary questions - Manage Parliamentary diary including whip- Maintaining social media and website- Researching statistics for speeches and briefings- Meeting and liaising with key constituency stakeholders - Responding to policy casework and writing to Government ministers- Liaising with constituency office- Drafting press releases and submitting FOI requestsDuring this time Vicky was also promoted to the whips office which allowed me to get well versed in the workings of the opposition ships office, including bench rota and ensuring that Vicky's diary allowed for extensive work within the whips role.

Local OrganiserThe Labour Party Dec 2014 - May 2015Lewisham Deptford ClpI was employed as a full time Local Organiser for the 2015 General Election in my home constituency of Lewisham Deptford. It was my role to run the campaign for new Parliamentary Candidate Vicky Foxcroft. During this role I took on the following tasks: - Volunteer management-Designing and writing campaign materials - Designing and managing website-Comprehensive use of Nationbuilder, Contact Creator and Campaign Creator- Leading comprehensive campaign strategy across seven wards- Delegating campaign tasks to a large CLP team- Coordinating with key seats across South East London- Liaising with Regional offices of the Labour Party and attend organising meetings- Ensure the polling day operation ran smoothly and effectivelyVicky was elected on General Election day with a majority of over 20,000 and 60% of the vote. The turnout in Lewisham Deptford was it's highest since 1992. -
