The practice at Constructionlex focuses on construction and commercial litigation.

As counsel, I was primarily responsible for managing several construction cases, and resolving disputes as efficiently as possible. I also developed an expertise with the mandatory disclosure requirements under the FAR, FERA's amendemnts to the False Claims Act, and overpayment issues on federal contracts.

I joined Thelen due to the opportuinity to work with some of the leading construction lawyers in the country and to work on some very interesting international cases. While I was at Thelen, our construction law practice was the highest ranked in the world by Chambers. Unfortuantely, the firm suffered from severe financial problems unrelated to the construction practice, and our group moved en masse to Howrey in November 2008.

I joined McCandlish (then known as Mezzullo & McCandlish and subsequently as McCandlish Kaine) right out of law school, and advanced to partner. While there, I helped to obtain the largest jury verdict in Virginia history and the largest civil rights jury verdict in U.S. history. While my work centered on construction issues, I also worked on lender liability disputes, salvage rights to the Titanic, and tried the first ever SAP implementation case, resulting in a jury verdict for my client… Show more I joined McCandlish (then known as Mezzullo & McCandlish and subsequently as McCandlish Kaine) right out of law school, and advanced to partner. As an internal auditor, I bacame fully familiar with bank procedures in every department--from consumer collections to International lending and the monitoring of financial derivatives. I began my career by finding and resolving a muli-million dollar discrepancy in our commercial loan portfolio, and finished by career as an auditor by overseeing our implementation of Reg CC. I also worked with the FBI to resolve a defalcation.
