My technical focus is on the integration of hardware and software to develop autonomous systems for real-world applications. The direction of my studies have been defined by projects such as my participation in the NASA Robotic Mining Competition, developing an autonomous sensing buoy as my senior capstone, and my work with the Mississippi State University Autonomous Vehicle Simulator (MAVS) for off-road navigation and machine learning. During the pursuit of my masters in electrical and computer engineering at Mississippi State, I worked in conjunction with the Center for Advanced Vehicle Systems (CAVS) and the IMPRESS (Information Processing and Sensing) lab to develop and test small-scale unmanned ground vehicles. This work would culminate in my thesis that involved the integration of a Clearpath Robotics Jackal vehicle in MAVS and on real-world hardware to compare relative autonomy performance using a shared autonomy stack.
