Worked with several areas of robotics research related to autonomous vehicles in off-road environments. Primarily investigated small-scale implementations of unmanned ground vehicles in simulated and real-world scenarios. Used the Mississippi State University Autonomous Vehicle Simulator (MAVS) in conjunction with ROS to collect data and test initial machine learning techniques with labelled LiDAR and image data. Additionally, a physical Clearpath Robotics Jackal vehicle was prepared in MAVS and on a real-world platform to test the vehicle with the Navigating All Terrains Using Robotic Exploration (NATURE) stack in both simulated and real environments. Regularly assisted with various data collections and hardware implementations throughout the time spent with fellow researchers while training new lab members on software and hardware systems.
