While a Philmont Ranger, I guided backpacking crews, taught first aid, assisted in search and rescue. I also had the honor of leading a Rayado Trek, an intensive 21-day trek for advanced backpackers. For my hardwork and leadership, I was awarded the Philmont Staff Association Scholarship.
