About William Moore

I am enjoying an active retirement as as a Professor of the Practice of Finance at UNC-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, as an advisor to a number of students, academic and corporate entities, and serving on the board of Vietri, Inc., the largest U. S. importer of handcrafted Italian tableware and home decor products.In 1975, I founded Trident Financial Corp. and served as CEO until we sold to KeyCorp in 1999. Trident was one of the nation's leading investment banking and financial advisory firms specializing in serving the needs of the financial services industry. In 2001, as volunteer President & CEO, I led the successful restructuring and turnaround of MCNC, a non-profit supercomputing, research and technology incubator company facing operating losses of $15-20 million annually before restructuring.Education: BS, U.S. Naval Academy and MBA, UNC-Chapel Hill.
