As an American who grew up as a foreigner in Lima, Peru, communication has always been a cornerstone of my life. I had to develop intercultural, interpersonal, and bilingual communication skills to survive in my new home. Those skills grew and matured when I helped Child Hope, a nonprofit, provide education and nutrition to impoverished children in Peru. By the time I returned to Ohio at 18 to pursue my college education, I knew exactly what I needed to study: communications. I was eager to use the skills I learned in the mountains, jungles, and cities of Peru to the United States marketplace. I strongly value being a part of a team that works together to make a tangible difference in the world. I fully believe that empathetic, effective, and emotionally intelligent communication can make that difference.
