Former United States Air Force Captain with 5 and 1/2 years experience as a 62E, Developmental (Electrical) Engineer. Commissioned out of the Air Force ROTC program at RIT in 2009 and was one of eleven new Second Lieutenants to be selected to get a masters degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT).Masters thesis involved developing anti-tamper/anti-reverse engineering solutions for FPGA-based devices. Thesis title: "Circuit DNA Extraction and Digital Key Generation Method Using Field Programmable Gate Arrays".Over 5 years experience in rapid prototyping using FPGAs, computer architecture development, and ASIC design while at AFIT and at AFRL. Seasoned leader, responsible for supervising 6 other multi-disciplinary engineers at AFRL - ensuring several multi-million dollar research programs met scheduled milestones. Managed two government-sponsored university research programs in secure packet routing ($500,000 total) at the University of Florida, and University of Idaho.Operational leadership experience within kinetic environments. Deployed twice to Afghanistan:Provided engineering support, program and retrograde management for the 777th and 577th Prime Base Emergency Engineering Squadrons (1st Expeditionary Civil Engineering Group) from January - June 2013. Program Manager for all new construction, base augmentation and repair for all of Regional Command - North (RC-N), Afghanistan. Responsible for overseeing retrograde operations and forward operating base closure assessments within RC-N.Led small, tactical UAV program in support of Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force - Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A) from December 2013 - June 2014. Responsible for overseeing UAV operational planning, maintenance, and classified information product collection and management.
