Designed, operated and maintained an iodine vapor phase growth (IVPG) reactor system for epitaxial growth of gallium nitride crystals. Custom aspects of the design included iodine vapor source and furnace flanges. Investigated key operating conditions to maximize growth rate while minimizing defects and crystal flaws.
