Conducted research related to heliophysics and solar weather prediction. Analyzed magnetogram data to determine measures to serve as the basis for new forecasting curves and determine their effectiveness at predicting solar weather events. Integrated these new measures into an existing tool: Magnetogram Forecast (MAG4). Used Iterative Data Language. Presented work to research supervisor on a weekly basis and gave a formal research talk. Co-authored paper to summarize our work.

Information Technology Associates Program (ITAP) provides internship-quality opportunities for students to hone their technology and professional skills by working in selected on-campus jobs and projects involving technology. Through these experiences, ITAP interns gain valuable professional, communication, technology and leadership skills that will be essential to any career path, regardless of their major or area of study.

Conducted research related to embedded device security with funding from a National Science Foundation grant. Explored the hardware, software, and network security of commercial cable modems and routers. Used penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and prepared reports detailing recommended mitigations for corporate distribution. Worked as a member of a three-person team on software design, implementation, and testing. Presented work to research supervisor on a weekly basis and also gave a formal research talk. Authored a paper to summarize our work.

Aid students in developing a strong mathematical foundation. Tutor in courses including Discrete Mathematics, Calculus, Analysis, and Operations Research.

Conducted research related to web browser security with funding from a National Science Foundation grant. Studied the security of several popular web browsers. Used JavaScript to enhance the security of Mozilla Firefox to combat common vulnerabilities and evaluated the functionality of the resulting system. Worked as a member of a three-person team on software design, implementation, and testing. Presented work to research supervisor on a weekly basis and also gave a formal research talk. Authored an abstract and a poster to summarize our work.

Taught classes of 8-16 students, ages 13-19. Taught topics including C++, Java, and Python. Mentored students as they designed, implemented, and debugged final projects.
