In early 2021, I graduated with a Bachelor of Advanced Science at Macquarie University, majoring in Astronomy and Astrophysics and Minoring in Computing at Macquarie University. I was additionally accepted in the Master's Degree of Research in Astronomy at Macquarie University, which I elected to postpone.I entered a contract in early 2022 with Wiley Edge, and completed a month-long Alumni Academy training in Financial Services, before then being deployed as a Financial Crime Analyst working on-site at Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Combined with my data analysis skills already cultivated in my degree, the Wiley Edge training had prepared and equipped me with the necessary skills to excel in this role, including strong comprehensions of financial crime compliance and risk compliance, KYC processes, and investigative reporting. Due to growing responsibilities within this role, and ongoing showcasing of my capabilities, I was appointed a promotion from within CBA, from Junior to Senior Analyst roles, in a period of just 6 months on-site.I am proficient in Python programming, with a knack for creative problem solving and logical thinking. My degree, and my projects associated with my degree, have prepared me for a position in industry where I will be able to utilise my skills productively in a development environment.I have past experience volunteering as an Outreach Guide for the Macquarie University Association for Astronomy, involved in operating instruments, and observing and explaining astronmomical objects to the general public. My studies in my degree, as well as my private research through personal passion, have lent me the knowledge needed to be an effective communicator in physics/astronomy topics. By extension, I am a confident and qualified communicator in all fields I have worked in, including spoken word, giving presentations, and in report writing.I also have past experience as a Sales Professional, with a demonstrated history of working in the retail industry, showing dedication and enthusiasm in all positions I've held. I excel in working independently or as part of a team, in any capacity, with plenty of experience in taking leadership roles where required.I am currently seeking new opportunities for work in the Risk Compliance side of the Finance sector, with an interest in continuing my current career trajectory. However, I am open to whatever opportunities may present themselves to me in this field, and excited to see where this direction takes me.
