WILL SUTHERLANDI am the founder of the Qualified By Experience Academy working with corporate executives to develop empathy, emotional intelligence, leadership and entrepreneurial skills. We also run similar courses for students. On the leading edge of educational practice and based on my experience working with John Corlette at Aiglon College, Switzerland, we provide life changing opportunities for students to travel and study in challenging environments. I am a results driven team manager, with strong interpersonal skills and a record of significant achievement in education, business development, training and coaching. I trained to teach maths and physical education at St Luke’s College, in Exeter, England. After 16 years as a housemaster I set up and managed my own private network of freelance consultants working in coaching, training, education, tourism, software and other specialist commercial sectors. Thus being “Qualified by Experience” became my focus and my passion.The Qualified By Experience Mindset:We foster practical, creative thinking in everything we do as it is an integral part of our basic mindset. ‘Design, develop and do,’ links into our entrepreneurial thinking. The Qualified by Experience method of teaching is founded on the answer to the question “Shall I do...” being “Yes, if you think it is a good idea...,” giving the student responsibility for decisions and the consequences, and the maximum number of opportunities to use and develop their creative thinking. I am a “Voyageur Exceptional” having led groups and organised tours across oceans and down major rivers. I am a RYA Ocean Yacht Master Instructor with over 40 years sailing experience and I am equally at home in the mountains having worked for 15 years with the Swiss ski school.
