Part of my role as Management Assurance Officer is to provide information, advice and guidance to the organisation that it has sufficient controls in place with appropriate assurance to validate these.I support the delivery of UKRI's Internal Audit Plan by reviewing Management Action Plans from draft audit reports to ensure they are SMART before reports are made final.As a second line function we are able to enhance UKRI's Assurance regime to give the accounting officer and UKRI executives confidence that its internal control framework is operating effectively, and the risk is managed to a reasonable level.Other elements to my role include reviewing audit action evidence, providing detailed reports to Audit Committee and other groups as well as conducting Risk Control Audits.
