I worked as a Law Clerk in the Legal team within Ventia’s Infrastructure Services division. I reported directly to a General Counsel and Senior Counsel. My main responsibilities included:• reviewing the legal and commercial risk profile of prospective D&C, O&M and other services contracts typically valued between $1M to $25M• drafting risk reports proposing drafting departures and mitigation strategies to address non-conformances with Ventia’s accepted risk profile• liaising with commercial managers to progress project bids through internal approvals process• reviewing non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality deeds prior to execution by Ventia’s directors and authorised representatives• assisting solicitors in delivering practical legal advice to Ventia’s commercial, corporate and operational stakeholders on various matters, including safety incidents and contract novation• drafting letters of demand and deeds of indemnity• delivering training on legal professional privilege to the business
