About Michael W.
Currently a Ph.D candidate in Sustainable Forest Management, with a concentration in Forest Geomatics. My research interests include using UAS, GIS, and Remote Sensing in aid of restoration ecology/disturbance ecology, particularly with respect to bodies of water and riparian forests (i.e., changes due to climate/drought/fires, invasive species, catastrophic weather events, human land use/groundwater extraction, etc.). In addition to my research interests, I think my background as a corporate lawyer and my Master’s in Management & Organization makes me a great fit for Sustainable Forest Management, as it relates to the policy, management, and legal consequences of ecological, hydrological, and environmental issues.
