When we initially engaged them, we had some challenging changes to make in a very small footprint -- moving from a 2G to 3G modem, incorporating Near Field Communications (NFC), and various other changes. At our initial meeting with PE, we discussed these design challenges, and they just said “no problem”. When we left the initial meeting, my partner and I immediately felt that "these were guys we could work with". Fast forward a few months and PE has delivered all the changes we wanted, and did it in a mechanical footprint that worked for us. We are a startup, and they did much more for us -- including driving devices around the Portland area to deliver them to whomever needed them (kernel engineer, contract manufacturer, mechanical design firm, etc.). Multiple weekends, they met with our software folks in their lab to debug issues. In essence, they just became awesome members of our team and did “whatever it takes” to get us to market. And there were so many changes we made along the way to make our product better. Many design firms treat these as “change requests” and opportunities to prolong a project and charge the client more. Ward and Scott just put their passion, enthusiasm, and energy into making our 1.0 and 1.5 the best it could be -- offering their suggestions and implementing them within our timelines. In conclusion, I am happy to unconditionally recommend and / or be a reference for Prototype-Engineering, Ward, and Scott.", "Ward was a key figure in any project that he worked on. He is a very dedicated guy who is extremely competent and enjoys figuring out the solution to problems. His technical knowledge is wide-ranging & extensive.", and "Ward is one of the most meticulous and spot-on engineers I've worked with. His role at Avnera is/was irreplaceable.
