My team in Schroders covers both FA and TA oversight and I am focused in the FA area. My role includes review of accounting and valuation from Fund’s administrator and oversee and ensure high performance standards of third-party suppliers through regular service review meetings, due diligence meetings and ad hoc.My role expanded my experience to fund tax and fund audit. I handle tax forms (FATCA and CRS), tax reporting for fund such as ETF declarations, HK profit tax review, tax filing and GST remission. I also review financial statements and liaise with auditors on audit requests and queries. I service internal and external client’s request and queries and facilitate new Fund launches/ Fund closures.

I was able to bring over my prior experience in both fund accounting and trade processing and settlements to my role as Senior Fund Accountant in BNY Mellon when I first joined.During my stay, I successfully completed the MAS derivative monthly reporting project and actively identify gaps in the current process and how to improve/ streamline them. I oversee the Feeder Fund administration function and ensure smooth implementation of new fund launches, transitions, account opening/ closure, reinvestment of dividend and dividend payout to shareholders. I am a high performer in the team and was subsequent promoted to co-lead a team of fourteen people.

This is my 1st job. Started in the settlements team as a contract and within 5 months, I am converted to a permanent position in the fund trades execution desk. I am promoted to a checker role within 1 year in the team. I mainly handle alternative investments, account opening, closure and trade orders.The operations shifted to Poland and I got the opportunity to get an internal position as fund accountant.
